Programme FAQs

WHEN DOES THE GRADUATE PROGRAMME START?

Training begins in July 2020 and graduates will start work in August 2020.

WHERE WILL I BE BASED?

You will primarily be based at one of our Operations Sites in the Central Belt of Scotland (Dumbarton/Dalmuir). We also have other operations sites in North East Scotland, London and Plymouth – you will not be based at these sites but you may have to travel there if you are involved in related projects.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED?

We are looking for degrees of a 2:1 or higher in any Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths discipline. Relevant industrial placements and work experience will be advantageous.

WHAT WILL I BE INVOLVED IN OVER THE THREE YEARS?

You will be involved in a series of projects and periods of work experience. This could include: a project to install a new Bottling Machine or a Distillery Mash Tun; Civil projects on a new warehouse build; Energy usage analysis and recommendations study; experience as a Warehouse or Bottling Team Leader; Project Management experience; Planning / Supply Chain improvement project.

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THE ROLE?

You’re graduate training programme will last for three years. For graduates who perform well, this could be the start of a lifelong career with Pernod Ricard.

WHAT DOES CAREER PROGRESSION LOOK LIKE?

This is down to you and your success in the role over three years – if you are successful you could end up as Project Engineer, Operations Manager or Supply Chain Specialist for example.

HOW MANY GRADUATES WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

The numbers vary year on year, for example in 2019 we recruited 5 operations graduates to the programme.

WILL I BE GIVEN TRAINING?

Yes, you will undertake an intensive four week training programme across the UK, learning all about Scotch whisky and how our business operates. This will be followed by an on-the-job training programme supported with classroom style learning.
